So its been a fun month!
Been in Europe three times for some shows, and they have all been great and super fun.
Some festival summer shows coming in, Poland and Czech next month, and some other exciting news on the way, but still kept quiet, so all is good!
Blimey, already a quarter of 2013 gone! Where’s the time flying to!? God knows…anyway, been a very busy exciting year so far, with some cool announcements to be made. Not been gigging much, taken some time off the road, however I am excited to be playing in Beauvais again for the second time since 2007 weekend MARCH 14 – 16. We play three gigs, and this was the first ever European show for me when I was 15, so will be fun.
Should be a lot more touring through the summer, and the latter part of the year, but for now, things are good. Xxx
So 2012 was a blast of a year!
Welcome to 2013! Gig dates are being confirmed at the moment as we speak, and a new website is being planned but for now I would like to say thank you to every single person who came to a show, every promoter who booked me, and all the lovely musicians and crew I have met on the 2012 journey. It really has been a belter of the year, being my most successful year yet as a musician with some truly memorable moments.
Some of the best festivals I have ever performed such as Skegn…ess Blues Rock Festival UK, Bliuzo Naktys Lithuania, Edinburgh and Maryport Blues Festivals, UK, Culemborg Blues Fest Netherlands and Shetland Islands Blues Festival which was one of my all time favourites I must say!
The dirty oZ Band which was Miikey Dean-Smith and Aaron Spiers did our first 6 date tour of Spain performing festivals which included a record headline show for me with 1100 people showing up, which was followed by my biggest show of my life supporting Toto in Kologne at Tanzbrunnen performing for 6000 people to great applause! The autumn had a very enjoyable 45 date tour across Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Poland and Spain which finished the year off which I would like to thank my band Keith Matthews and Chris Sharley for, and in amongst that, two cameo appearances in the Markthalle and Fabrik, Hamburg alongside some great names.
I have also been extremely lucky to perform on two of the most legendary stages in Rock History, which were the 100 Club, London and The Cavern, Liverpool. Both with my dear friend Connie Lush.
Press wise its been great having songs on the Classic Rock Compilation CD for the second time, a 2 page feature in both Bluesnews Finland, as well as Route66 Spain, and my first ever magazine front page cover article in Gitaarplus, Netherlands. This year has some great announcements to be made soon and is looking very exciting but for now, I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU! Krissy x
Just got back from a great “wee” tour of Shetland Islands and Scotland. 5 shows, and all of them were fantastic, and met some absolutely fantastic people and bands. Incredible. And a great band Jim Reece on Miikey Dean Smith joined me on that adventure. Next week, we start a string of about 20 shows across Europe, starting in Apeldoorn on the 27th September and ending in Oslo, Norway on 28th October. The chosen band for this tour is Chris Sharley on Drums and Keith Matthews on Bass. Looking forward to this one too!
So the summer tour is over. Its been fantastic playing through the towns of Edinburgh, Maryport, Cropredy, Gandia, Burlada, Alcorcon, Segovia, Mallorca, Guadarama, Koln, Culemborg and Sittard. Krissy now has a week of on holiday, before getting back to work again with the new tour start in two weeks in Shetland Island Blues Festival…Thankyou to everyone for supporting on this Summer tour. It was absolutely amazing!
Very excited that the Summer tour starts on Thursday and the towns we hit are EDINBURGH, MARYPORT in the U.K, SA POBLA, BURLADA, ALCORCON, GUADARRAMA, SEGOVIA and GANDIA in Spain, and Kologne where we open up for TOTO on 19th August! And then to finish it of a small3 date solo tour in Netherlands. Busy Busy Busy!
Tomorrow we have a rehearsal and then we start our Spring Scottish tour of 5 shows which we are all very looking forward to, before hitting the lovely towns of Cambridge and Burton on Trent. Good times.
So been good to have two months of, but they havent really been of! Â Been writing, rehearsing, recording, networking, phoning, booking, promoting and everything else! But looking forward to hitting the road again in March, got about 12 shows booked. Starts of in Poland in two days, then straight to Stevenage, Oxford before the Scottish tour. Be great to get back on and play live again!
First show of the year in Skegness was real great fun and a lovely show. Thanks to those who showed up, bought CD’s, and Max Maxwell who put in a stellar performance on drums! (15 years old!) We hit Stevenage and Oxford in March as well as a short 5 date Scottish tour, with Chris Sharley from a few years ago on the drum stool for these and Keith Matthews on the Bass. Thanks!
